In 1974, at a security meeting in the Netherlands, a concept was born that laid the foundation of The European Security Transport Association (ESTA), at the initiative of Dr. C. Barrabino (Italy) and W. Thiele (Germany).

The initial goal of this new association was to design “THE” European armoured Vehicle for CIT by including harmonized standards for balistic resistance.

In 1975, on November 18th, in Brussels, ESTA was founded, its articles of association ratified by its seven founding members, and Mr. L. Pottier (SPS-France) elected President.

ESTA is a non profit organisation which represents to-day the cash industry logistics businesses throughout Europe and 90% of the European CIT industry.

ESTA a corresponding member of CoESS, counts 130 members of which 77 are effective, 51 adherent and 2 associate.
